Bertsch Named Outstanding Rural Health Professional	More>>

Darrold Bertsch, CEO of Southwest Healthcare Services received the 2008 Oustanding Rural Health Professional Award at the annual Dakota Conference on Rural and Public Health on March 27th in Fargo. This award is presented to a health care professional in rural North Dakota who has demonstrated leadership in the delivery of rural health services.

Southwest Healthcare Services has received a health care quality award for their overall performance on the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services quality measures. The award was presented to Gaye Olson, Director of Nursing at Southwest Healthcare Service’s Hospital by North Dakota Health Care Review, Inc. (NDHCRI) on June 10 at NDHCRI’s annual inpatient workshop in Bismarck.

Healthy Habits, a support group for those trying to lose weight, will begin on Wednesday, October 15 and will take place every Wednesday through January 21, 2009. Look Fine in '09!!! Come join our 15 week weight loss journey! Cost is $50 per person. Meetings will take place in Sunny Apartments at 5pm. Weigh-ins will begin at 4:30pm. 7-9pm Renew Wellness Center
For the Love of Baby is a preparation class for those expecting a very special delivery. This class helps prepare expecting parents for the joys and tribulations of pregnancy, labor and bringing a newborn home. Topics include: prenatal care, stages of labor, breastfeeding, taking an infant's temperature, crying and colic, and much more. Mommies to be can bring their husbands, partner or a friend/family member. All mommies are welcome no matter where they receive medical care. Classes are planned for Tuesdays, Nov. 18, Nov. 25, Dec. 2, and Dec. 9 from 7-9pm at the Renew Wellness Center. Cost per couple is $25. (Financial Assistance is available.)
